Cash handouts ‘to boost tourism’
Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana is considering a proposal to give each Thai 1,500 baht to spend on travel and tourism in the country, sanook.com reported (August 10, 2019).
Mr. Uttama will discuss with the Minister of Tourism and Sports Pipat Ratchakitprakarn regarding this proposal.
“We are talking with the tourism and sports ministries to regarding this matter,” he said.
“There have been various proposals, including tax reduction and cash handouts,” he added.
