Chiang Mai wooing back Chinese tourists
Representatives of tourism companies in Chiang Mai province this afternoon (Oct 25, 2018) met the Chinese consul general to brief him on new measures now in place to ensure safety and convenience for Chinese tourists visiting the northern city, the Thai-language Daily News reported.
At the meeting, the Thai tourism operators said the number of safety and rescue teams had been increased in places frequented by Chinese tourists, with more Chinese-language signs, directions and emergency call numbers for the tourists.
“With these measures, we believe Chinese tourists will come back to Chiang Mai, which is already well-known in China,” said Victoria Nimman Hotel general manager Tanakorn Intarayotha.
