Ex-rector faces probe over PM wife’s bag
FORMER Thammasat University rector Charnvit Kasetsiri is in hot water over his Facebook comments on the price of a handbag carried by the wife of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, Sanook.com reported today (Jan 18, 2018).
According to police investigators, Dr Charnvit posted two comments on Jan. 11 and 15 claiming that Mrs Naraporn Chan-o-cha carried a handbag worth more than two million baht on her recent trip abroad.
“His comments were false and in violation of Article 14 of the Computer Crime Act of 2017,” said Pol Col Olarn Sukkasem.
Dr Charnvit said he made the comments in good faith, and was ready to defend himself in the court of justice.
