Golden Bodhi Tree found in Udon Thani
Villagers visit a golden Bodhi tree in Udon Thani Province with hopes to find lucky numbers for the lottery. Luck was on their side after many villagers won prizes thanks to the number 95 in the latest government lottery draw on 16 May 2020. The tree is located in a field behind a village in Pen District. The Bodhi tree is unique with golden leaves with white wood. This golden tree is still small, growing right next to an older Bodhi tree that is much bigger. The owner of the field stated that the big Bodhi tree is at least 300 years old.
The smaller golden Bodhi tree is believed to be a holy tree with special powers. Locals believe that such trees will grant wishes and bring good luck. Dee Hemutai 95 years old the owner of the field and the Bodhi tree stated that the field is about 30 Rai or about 11.8 acres. The field is used to grow rice and sugarcane. The Bodhi tree has been in the field for a very long time and was already big when she started working in the field. The golden Bodhi tree is at least 10 years old and about 3 meters tall. The tree was normal but then it turned from green to white and then it suddenly turned into a golden color on 15 May 2020. The news spread out very fast and villagers came to visit the tree in search of lucky numbers.
Then on the 16th, the lottery draw day all the leaves on the small Bodhi tree turned to gold The branches and the tree itself was also golden color. The owner is happy that locals have won prizes after visiting the tree, although she never knew that the lucky number found was 95 and missed a chance in winning a lottery prize. She had heard about a gold Bodhi tree in Sri Lanka but never imagined that the same miracle would take place in her own field.
