Hacking gang head held at Koh Samui
THE Thai Crime Suppression Division police together with their French counterparts arrested a Frenchman, who is the head of a gang of hackers and had obtained confidential information from a British financial institution, on Koh Samui today (May 18), Thai News Agency reported.
Thai and French police brought a warrant to search the house of Jonathan Warron (name translated as written in Thai), a Frenchman against whom an arrest warrant has been issued, and seized a block of marijuana and 20 pieces of electronic gadget.
French police had asked Thai officers to help arrest this important suspect, who they said was the head of a hacker gang that obtained information about the clients of a British financial institution, and had demanded a ransom to not publicize this information, before fleeing to hide out in Thailand.
