Huge number of mourners on first month anniversary
TODAY marks one month since the demise of beloved His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej,and this led to a huge number of mourners flocking to pay their respects in front of the Royal urn, Thai News Agency said.
Large crowds of people both from Bangkok and various provinces such as Uttaradit, Lopburi, Nong Khai and Samut Prakarn came early in the morning and waited patiently in a long queue to pay their last respects to the remains of His Majesty the late King.
Mourners united in coming to pay tribute to His Majesty the late King in remembrance of his kindness. When the Thai News Agency reporter wrote this story the queue stretched all the way till the middle of Sanam Luang Park.
As Thammasat University’s graduation ceremony continued for the second day today this triggered heavy traffic congestion around Sanam Luang Park leading to the authorities recommending that people use public transportation.
Yesterday a total of 28,563 mourners paid their last respects to the remains of His Majesty the late King.
