I’nesian smog hits Songkhla tourism

Smog caused by the forest fire in Indonesia’s Sumatra Island has covered a large area of the Thai tourist city of Songkhla, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (Sept 13, 2019).

The problem has reduced the number of tourists in Songkhla while local residents are wearing face masks to protect their health.

The smog entered the Thai tourist city eight days ago after forest fire erupted on Sumatra Island. The Thai Meteorological Department is updating the situation on a daily basis.
