Man kills nun, held with 2m baht
A 39-year-old man was arrested in the northern Thai province of Chiang Mai yesterday (Nov 1, 2019) and charged with murdering a wealthy nun and taking nearly two million baht in cash from her ATM card, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.
The arrest took place after police found the body of the 58-year-old nun in a freezer inside her home in Jomthong district. She had been dead for about two weeks.
The accused murderer said he forced the woman to give him her ATM code, which he used to take 140,000 baht in cash from the ATM each day.
