Mystic help for a safe Songkran
AN interesting campaign to decrease accidents during Songkran was launched in Ayuthaya province today (April 10) with drivers getting mystic inscribed pieces of cloth from a famous monk as well as famed provincial sweet bread, Thai News Agency said.
Ayuthaya Governor Suchin Chaichumsak presided over activities to promote safe driving during Songkran at Bang Pa-in section of Asian Highway to ensure strict control and prevention of accidents.
Joining him was Kasem Chandavimol, the abbot of Wat Pom Raman who is highly revered in this province, who brought mystic inscribed pieces of cloth and stickers to distribute to drivers for good luck and protection.
Officials also distributed traditional sweet bread which the province is famous for to the travelers.
