Neighbors had enough, home flooded with trash.
Neighbors have had enough after a home has been hoarding trash for so long they have started placing items around the fence onto the road. The owner is a 58 year old woman who will not throw away any items. Neighbors reveal the smell pollution is extremely bad, they have trouble using the road inside the village, and there is fear of a fire. The Khaosod News Team reported on 18 May 2022. The home is located in Charoensuk Village 3 in Ratchaburi Province. The woman lives alone and she has been hoarding items for years.
The owner’s main occupation is selling second hand items. She also collects food scraps to feed stray dogs and keeps the food inside a plastic bag. A lot of trash is placed in piles in front of her home and surrounding her fence. The entrance of the home is flooded with items, so much that the gate cannot be closed. Neighbors are afraid that there will be a fire as the weather is very hot. They also believe snakes and bugs are living under the piles of trash. Beside her home by the fence are piles of trash that are taller than the fence.
Krit 48 years old and Suwat 36 years old are neighbors who live across from the woman. Both state that the woman has lived in this home for over 30 years. She used to be a maid and started selling second hand items. In the last few years she has been collecting more items and most of it is trash. There is no more room inside her home so she has placed items outside on the road. When warned she would say “it is a public area, I can use the road”. Neighbors have made complaints to related sectors. The woman would hide all the items inside her home and bring them back out when officials left. The woman will have to get rid of all the trash within 2 weeks or face a fine of 20,000 THB.
