Sanctuary head accuses Ital-Thai boss of attempted bribery
THE head of the western side of Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary in Kanchanaburi accused Italian-Thai Development Plc President Premchai Karnasuta of attempting to bribe him after he and his party were arrested on the charges of hunting wild animals but later released on bail, INN News reported this morning (Feb. 9).
Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Srivara Rangseepromnakul said he had told Mr Vichien Shinwong, the sanctuary’s head, to file a complaint accusing Premchai and three others who were with him, Mr Yong Dodkrua from Ratchaburi, Mrs Nathee Reumsan from Nakhon Ratchasima and Mr Thanee Thummat from Kanchanaburi, of attempted bribery and that the police is ready to proceed with this additional case against all of them.
Pol. Gen. Srivara also said Vichien had told him he had approved the visit to the sanctuary by Premchai and his party because a director had told him to process the permit. They got in without having to pay 20 baht a person fee and 30 baht for each vehicle.
However, this issue is for the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation to handle, he added.
