Suspect held in brutal robbery, murder of elderly man

A NEIGHBORHOOD odd-job man has been arrested in the brutal killing and robbing of an elderly man at his house in Nonthaburi with his elderly wife also being severely injured, INN News reported today (Nov. 28)

Pol.  Col. Panyaphat Dechothiphisit, head of Nonthaburi police station, said investigators succeeded in arresting the suspect, who is around 40 years old, on the charges of killing and robbing Mr La-iad Udomrak, 78, and badly injuring Mrs Sin Simnangbua, 74, at their house in Soi Ngamwongwarn 6 last Friday November 24.

Eyewitnesses told police investigators that the suspect, who had fled to the provinces, did odd jobs in the neighborhood and knew the victims.

The merciless robber stole 5-baht weight gold bracelet, 2-baht weight gold necklace, mobile phones and a motorcycle.

Police said some of the stolen valuables have been recovered and they are continuing to question the suspect.
