Teen mum leaves baby at spirit house
POLICE are chasing a teenage girl who left a newborn baby boy at a Nonthaburi apartment spirit house before dawn today (Oct. 13), Thai News Agency said.
At 6 am this morning Pol. Lt. Col. Yongyuth Sangserayakul, an investigator at Nonthaburi police station, together with rescuers from Ruam Katanyu Foundation rushed to Thonaporn 2558 Apartment in Soi Raewadee where they found the around week-old baby boy wrapped in a towel and placed in a plastic bucket in front of the spirit house.
He had been bitten by mosquitos all over and they quickly rushed him to Phra Nang Klao Hospital.
The 37-year-old guard at this apartment building told police that it was around 5 am in the morning when he found the baby in the bucket at the spirit house just as he was bicycling around for a security check and that he did not know who left him there and had quickly told the management to call the police.
The apartment building’s security cameras show that a teenager dressed in black left the baby at the spirit house at 4.56 am and police are chasing her to prosecute in accordance with the law.
