Temple wins environmental award
Huay Charoen Temple in the central Thai province of Suphan Buri has won an award for Best Environmental Development from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DNRE), the Thai-language Daily News reported yesterday (June 17, 2019).
Several temples in Suphan Buri had been surveyed by the DNRE and Huay Charoen Temple won first prize for its best management of garbage, a beautiful landscape, its herbal garden and its clean toilets and good drainage system.
The temple abbot praised the local community for helping the monks maintain cleanliness in the temple.
