Thailand extends Emergency Decree for the sixth time to the end of October

The Royal Thai Government has approved the extension of the Emergency Decree nationwide for another month for the sixth time, from 1-31 October, 2020.

According to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), imposing another month of the state of emergency will allow the authorities to effectively control and prevent the spread of COVID-19. This is especially as Thailand is in the process of gradually opening up the country, including the plan to grant a special tourist visa (STV) aimed at long-staying visitors.
