Tour Company owner arrested wanted by 6 arrest warrants
The Thai Crime Suppression Division Police successfully arrested a tour company owner wanted with 6 arrest warrants. Her tour company has been selling fake plane tickets to victims claiming that the company can find extremely cheap tickets from luxury airlines.
Police Major Garik Sanohsamnueng and related officers arrested Prayongsri 39 years old from Samut Prakan Province. She is wanted by 6 arrest warrants issued by the Prakanong Court. The court has charged Prayongsri with several charges of Fraud. It all started in 2011 when she opened a tour company. The company advertised to the public selling tickets from luxury airlines at an economy price tag.
The deal sounded good so there were many interested buyers. Prayongsri told buyers to transfer money into her account for the tickets. Instead of receiving the tickets as promised, the customers got silence. Each customer lost an average of 100,000 – 150,000 THB. The total damages reach millions of THB, there currently no con conclusion to the total amount.
Many of the victims decided to file reports with the police. In this time, Prayongsri continued running with the same scam. A total of 6 arrest warrants were issued for her and she was finally arrested on 14 September 2019 by the Crime Suppression Division. The suspect was hiding in a relatives house in the city of Samut Prakan thinking that the police didn’t suspect a thing.
Prayongsri insists that even though the money was sent to her account, another man took it all. The suspect has been sent to the Bang Na Police Station waiting for prosecution. This is another case that helps remind us before investing in a deal, think it through and if it sounds too good to be true then that’s probably the case. Luxury airlines rarely throw in large discounts that are open to purchasing for the public.
