Tropical storm shuts Doi Sutep National Park
GOVERNMENT officials today (July 20, 2018) closed Doi Suthep-Pui National Park in the northern Thai province of Chiang Mai after Tropical Storm Son-Tinh dumped heavy rain in the area last night, Sanook.com reported.
Park director Kritsayam Kongsatree said the level of water in the streams kept rising today. Tourists will be evacuated if water in the streams turns red.
Dark clouds still hanged over the park this afternoon. Officials in Lamphun, Lampang Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Tak an Mae Hong Son provinces are also monitoring the situation in their areas.
