Wisanu: Prayut can legally be party’s advisory chairman
ALTHOUGH Deputy Prime Minister Wisanu Kruea-ngarm said this morning (March 13) he does not know anything about a new party inviting Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to be its advisory chairman, he pointed out that it is legally possible for him to take up this position, Thai News Agency reported.
Wisanu said it is entirely legal for Prime Minister Prayut to take up the position of Palang Pracharat Party’s advisory chairman and also become this party’s member.
However, Gen Prayut cannot run in the election because to do so he would have had to step down from his current position last year in accordance to the legally stated timeframe.
Meanwhile Interior Minister General Anupong Paochinda also said this morning that he does not know anything about Gen. Prayut playing politics or news that Palang Pracharat Party would like him to become its advisory chairman.
However, he added that this is a personal matter but regardless who wants to serve the country, if he is capable, he should be able to do so.
