Woman arrested moving drugs on public van.

A woman attempted to move drugs using a public van. She pretended to be a normal traveler but inside her bag were around 50,000 Yaba pills. The suspect is known as “Ai Raisatorn” from Phetchaburi Province and the van was heading to Kanchanaburi Province. Police Major General Pairot Kumpai along with related officials from the Kanchanaburi Police received information that drugs were being moved from a neighboring country into Thailand. The trafficking will be using Road 323 heading into the province. What is special about this delivery is that the drugs will actually be moved using a public transport vehicle.

An investigation began and related officials along with police dogs worked together to find the suspect. A checkpoint was set in Sanklaburi District. At 8:30 officials called over a van and inside was Patsiyawi 43 years old. She had 2 bags and was acting suspiciously. Police asked her to come out of the van with her belongings. Police searched and found a lot of evidence. This includes 48,200 Yaba pills, 279 grams of heroin, and 90 grams of crystal meth. Together the drugs are worth 5 Million THB. Patsiyawi was arrested on the spot along with the evidence.

The suspect stated that she received the job from a Burmese man to deliver the drugs to a drug gang in Kanchanaburi Province. Once the job was completed she would receive 80,000 THB. The suspect admits this is not the first time she has done this. 2 weeks ago she delivered drugs by pretending to be a tourist, but at that time she was driving her own vehicle. This time she decided to use a public van but was arrested. Patsiyawi will likely not be delivering drugs anytime soon. She has been delivered to the police station and is awaiting prosecution.
