Woman falls into 2-meter hole while on the phone.
A woman has fallen down a 2-meter hole used as a water tank. Others at the incident location believe she was on the phone and did not notice the hole in the ground as she stepped into it. The Ruamkatanyu Foundation received notification of a woman who fell down a concrete water tank at a construction site at 14.00 on 6 June 2021. The water tank was placed underground and is over 2 meters deep. The incident took place in Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province. The local rescue team headed to the location right after receiving the notification.
The team went to a single-story construction site and inside was a large underground concrete water tank. The entrance to the water tank was left uncovered. There was also nothing shielding the tank or any warnings nearby. The rescue team found Rattana Kleeiam 26-year-old an employee at the construction site in the water tank. Rattana from Kamphaeng Phet Province accidentally fell down the deep-water tank and was stuck. She could not move when the team found her. The team used special equipment to help remove Rattana out from the concrete tank. They then used a chain hoist found in the construction site to help pull Rattana out.
Rattana was delivered to a hospital nearby. Another worker at the construction site stated that right before the incident he noticed Rattana had an incoming call. Rattana picked up the call and started walking in circles while on the phone. He believes she was focused on the call and accidentally stepped on a wood plank placed on top of the water tank opening. The wood plank broke, and she fell inside straight to the bottom of the empty tank. Others near the area went in to help Rattana but she was stuck. This is when they decided to call the local rescue team.
