Young man in hot water over air base drone video clip
A YOUNG Thai man who shared an aerial drone video clip of the Royal Thai Air Force base at Don Mueang has confirmed to the police he will be in to hear the charges this week, INN News said today (Oct. 17).
Pol. Col, Surachet Banthid, head of Don Muang Police Station, said a summons had been issued for the young man who flew an unmanned aerial vehicle or drone and videotaped an aerial view of the air base in violation of section 4 of the Thai Secrecy Act 1939 and failing to comply with ministerial regulations forbidding the flying of a drone within a 9- kilometer distance of the air base.
The suspect had told police that he will be in to hear the charges within this week with the delay caused by having to go to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand to hear charges under the Air Navigation Act with the penalty being not more than 1 year in jail and a fine of not more than 40,000 baht or both.
