Pattaya ‘on course as center of EEC’
MAYOR Sonthaya Khunpleum today (Sept 28, 2018) revealed that work is in progress to upgrade the coastal tourist city of Pattaya into the center of the planned Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the Thai-language daily Naew Na reported.
Mr Sonthaya has been appointed by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha as a member of the committee in charge of implementing the EEC project.
“The central government, local officials and members of the public are working together to make this project a success,” Mr Sonthaya said.
“Pattaya is already well-known around the world, and this project will make it even more successful.”
