Unidentified man dies in fall from Silom building

A MAN whose name is not known fell off the eight floor of a building in Silom and died on the spot last night with police investigating whether it was murder or suicide, Thai News Agency said today (May 9).

After the unknown man’s fatal plunge in front of the building in the middle of last night forensic science police from Bang Rak station checked the body and initially found that the deceased was a portly man wearing an orange T-shirt and shorts and also had a thread like accessory, a Yin-Yang tattoo near his right wrist but there were no documents on him to indicate who he was.

Pol. Col. Nakhon Thongpanich, head of Bang Rak police station, said the CCTV footage in the 29-storey building showed a man, suspected to be the deceased, walking down from the ninth floor to the eight and then passing the fire escape before disappearing from the cameras.

This could either be a suicide or murder and this morning eyewitnesses will be questioned and the place suspected to be the deceased man’s residence checked and also his relatives informed.

There was a suicide in this building on October 23, 2014 when a foreign man set himself on fire and jumped from the fourth floor.
