Debt-ridden worker commits suicide
A 29-year-old go-down worker in Bangkok hanged himself early this morning (Nov. 10) after failing to clear a big debt with a money lender, the Thai-language Daily News reported.
Two hours before the suicide, the desperate worker had gone out to rob two convenience stores, before returning to his room, where he wrote a suicide note.
“Dear boss, family and friends,
“I apologize for having committed a crime. I stole a motorcycle and robbed two stores. I lost my senses. Please forgive me.”
The go-down owner was shocked by the suicide. “He was a quiet guy and had been with me for a year. I heard that he was addicted to gambling and was in debt.”
