Young motorcycle racers arrested in Bangkok

BANGKOK police early this morning (Nov. 25) arrested 138 young motorcyclists while they were racing on the main road in the eastern outskirts of Bangkok, Khao Sod newspaper reported.

The racers, aged between 16-19, had organized racing in that area several times. They communicate through the Internet.

The 18-year-old racing organizer had been arrested 2 times. He was fined 20,000 baht for the first offence, and served one month in jail for the second offence.

This time, police impounded 115 motorcycles and shut down three Internet sites used by the motorcycle racers.
