Nightclubs, karaoke, bars, and massage parlours return to open on 1 June 2022. There are safety measurements to help protect the spread of Covid-19 and a closing time at midnight. The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported on 20 May 2022 the latest update relating to the Covid-19 situation in Thailand. Taweesilp Visanuyothin the spokesman reported that there is also a change in the color zones for the provinces. Yellow zones have been reduced from 65 provinces to 46 provinces. There are now 14 green zones and 17 blue zones (tourist zones). Nightclubs, bars, karaoke shops, and massage parlors will be allowed to open in blue and green zone provinces.
Alcoholic beverages can be sold until closing time which is at midnight. Glasses cannot be shared and employees who work in services that require close contact with customers must wear masks. Some safety measurements include 1. Employees, singers, and related persons must be fully vaccinated against the virus including a booster shot. 2. Employees must go through a safety check everyday with TST. 3. Employees will receive ATK tests every 7 days or if they come into contact with a Covid case. 4. Follow UP safety regulations.
There are also safety rules for customers including 1. They must be fully vaccinated including the booster shot. 2. Follow UP safety regulations. 3. Individuals belonging in the 608 group are advised to avoid entering such businesses. This is the group who are most at risk if positive with Covid-19. Businesses must ask for permission to open from the provincial health officials. Only registered businesses are allowed to open. Tables must be at least 1 meter apart from each other. Indoor ventilation must be sufficient for safety. Businesses must also check vaccination status of both employees and customers and make sure that customers do not belong in the 608 group.
