Temple boy kills abbot, takes cash to buy drugs
AN 18-year-old temple boy was arrested and charged with murdering the abbot of Phuhinkong Temple in the northeastern Thai province of Kalasin, Sanook.com reported today (June 17).
The suspect is a drug addict. He entered the abbot’s room on Friday morning and left in a hurry. Fellow monks later found the abbot dead with multiple stab wounds on his body.
Police investigators said the suspect often extorted money from the abbot when he needed it to buy drugs. Before the murder, he stole a TV set and several solar-cell panels from the temple.
