9 New Covid-19 cases in Thailand, all from abroad.
There have been 9 new Covid-19 cases in Thailand, all coming back home from abroad. Up to this date there have been 3,054 Covid-19 cases in Thailand, 2,931 have recovered, and returned home while the death number is at 57. Thaweesilp Wisanuyothin, M.D, The Covid-19 spokesperson from the Department of Disease Control reported on 27 May 2020 that Thailand has 9 latest Covid-19 cases. There are a total of 66 patients that are currently receiving medical care, hopefully, all victims of the virus are on their way to full recovery.
These 9 new cases are all Thai’s returning from abroad. The first 2 cases are Thai men aged 18 and 27. They returned from the USA on 12 May 2020 and have been in quarantine at the State Quarantine Center located in Chonburi Province. The men received Covid-19 tests which confirmed that they were infected on 26 May 2020.
The 3rd case is a 34-year-old Thai man who returned from Qatar on 22 May 2020. The man worked as a masseur and decided to come back to Thailand in fear of the virus. After arriving in Thailand he has been in quarantine at the State Quarantine Center located in Samut Prakan Province. The patient started showing Covid-19 symptoms including high fever, coughing and lost his sense of smell. He was tested for Covid-19 and was confirmed positive on 25 May 2020.
The last group of 6 cases are men aged from 23 to 33 years old who have returned from Saudi Arabia. The men entered back into Thailand across the Padang Besar Border on the Thailand-Malaysia border on 24 May 2020. Ever since arriving in the country the men have been in quarantine. 3 were at the State Quarantine Center located in Songkhla Province, 1 was at the center in Yala Province, 1 was at the center in Pattani Province, and the last one was at the center in Narathiwat Province.
All 9 new cases belong to the high-risk group returning to Thailand from abroad. Thankfully, with the right safety measures put in place, all patients went into a quarantine that helped find out that they were infected before any were able to spread the virus to people in the country.
