How a Grabfood driver helped save a child’s life.
A Grabfood driver helped deliver a child that was having a seizure to the hospital on 2 September 2019. The story was shared by Facebook User “Ployly M Kaewya” who is the mother of the child. In her post Ploy attached a video from the car camera showing a Grabfood driver driving a motorbike with Ploy and her child sitting behind.
Minutes before Ploy was sitting in the car carrying her child while her husband was driving. Ploy admitted that at the moment she was shocked and extremely scared for her child’s life. She told her husband in a shaking voice “Please drive faster, he can’t take it anymore, his mouth is shaking, and his eyes are closing”. The father kept asking Ploy if their son was still breathing, he was just as scared, but as the man in the family, he tried his best to keep calm.
The car wasn’t able to drive any faster as they were stuck in traffic. Ploy realized that the car might not deliver her child to the hospital on time. This was when the father saw the Grabfood driver coming up on the road, he decided to call the motorbike driver and said: “Please help, please my child is extremely unwell and he needs to go to the hospital”. Without any hesitation, the Grabfood driver told the mother and child to jump onto his motorbike and they drove to the hospital right away.
When they arrived at the hospital, Ploy decided to carry her son across a bridge as making a U-turn would take too long. A Win motorbike driver ran to her and helped carry her child across the bridge. Thankfully they made it in time and the doctor told her that there was an unusual brainwave in his left brain causing seizures on the right side of the body. The treatment is 2 years of medication.
Ploy and her husband are extremely grateful to the Grabfood driver. She found their phone numbers after the incident and that the driver’s name was “Pop”. Turns out the Grabfood driver was on his way to deliver a pizza that Ploy sat on. Pop delivered the pizza to the customer in a bad condition, but the company will be compensating the customer as they understand what happened. Pop even drove back to ask the Win driver if the child was delivered to the doctor in time after he delivered the pizza.
