10 Million Yaba pills found in public van.
The Commissioner General reported the arrest of 2 drug cases with evidence of over 10 million Yaba pills. The drugs are brought in by a big drug group in the Isan region of Thailand. Investigation shows that both cases had the same boss organizing the orders. The first case police arrested 3 suspects with evidence including 4 million Yaba pills, 2 guns, a car, and a van. Together the evidence is worth 1,430,000 THB. Police received information that help arrest the suspects from another drug arrest in Nong Khai Province. The police knew drugs were being moved into the central part of Thailand.
A vehicle was searched inside a gas station and the suspects were arrested. The next case 2 suspects were arrested with 6 Million Yaba pills. The arrest was thanks to information from 2 other drug cases in 2021 and 2019 with evidence of 825 kg of crystal meth. The drug group is responsible for moving large amounts of drugs in Thailand. Police received information of the vehicle that was found and searched. The suspects admitted that they picked up the drugs in Nakhon Phanom Province and were on the way to Ayutthaya Province.
The drugs were moved in from the border and were supposed to be delivered to customers in Thailand. Both cases had the same boss, and the police will continue the investigation to find other members of the group. Officials admit that stopping drugs in the Isan part of Thailand can be harder than in the Northern region. This is because there are natural passageways that are hard to watch. There are more roads in the North where officials can set up checkpoints. Police are increasing surveillance and new methods to help stop drug smuggling in Isan.
