4 held for trafficking 500kg ganja

ANTI-NARCTOTICS police this morning (Feb. 26) arrested 4 suspects in northeastern Sakhon Nakhon province and seized 500 kilograms of dried marijuana bars they were transporting on a pickup truck, INN News reported.

The 4 suspects were identified as Mr Bancherd Phoruang, 42, from lower northern Nakhon Sawan province; Mr Chalerm Apiwan, 48, from central Petchabun province; Mrs Tim, 30, a Laotian national; and Miss Natharinee Nilwattana, 39, also from Nakhon Sawan province.

Police are expanding their investigation of this case to arrest other members of the drug trafficking gang and also seize their assets in accordance to the directive of the head of the anti-narcotics police.

The suspects have been charged with possession of narcotic drug number 5 with intent to sell without person.
