76-year-old German woman goes missing from hotel in Phuket.
A 76-year-old German has gone missing at a local hotel in Phuket. Some clues have been found that may lead to finding the missing woman. Officials are searching for the tourist after she went missing from the hotel since 9 May 2022. Security footage in the area revealed she was last spotted near a construction site. Police Lieutenant Colonel Ekkachai Siri received notification that Barbara Elisabeth Monika Glag Lange 76 years old went missing from Maikhao Pal Beach Resport and Spa located in Thaland District, Phuket Province.
Officials had the latest meeting on the 14th at the Sirinat Beach National Park. A plan has been made with related government sectors to search an area of 5-6 kilometers. Over 20 officers will walk the beach including the area surrounding the hotel. Police searched security footage around the area and discovered footage that showed Barbara walking pass a hotel that was under construction. The construction site is located near Pling Island. Another tourist saw the woman and informed officials that she was walking near the island on the 9th.
Another witness named Sittisak Bamrapan stated he was fishing at a spot located about 2-3 kilometers away from the Pling Island. During this time he noticed a suspicious object that was covered with blue tent fabric. Near this object was a pile of dried waste. He decided to notify the National Park officer’s to inspect the object. Water levels are low during this time and officials cannot travel by boat to the object until water levels return to normal. Officials are continuing to to search the area and hopefully more clues will rise to the surface and Barbara is found safe.
