Abhisit to quit if party fails in next election
Former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva declared (Dec 31, 2018) that he would step down as Democrat Party leader if the party fails to gain more than 100 parliamentary seats in the upcoming general election, Sanook.com reported.
“Our main competitors are the Phuea Thai and Palang Pracharat parties, which have major financiers to support them,” he said.
“The stakes are high and I have already told my party members that I would do my best,” he added. “If I fail, I will let party members find a new leader.”
