Air pollution worsens in Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai Deputy Governor Komsan Suwan-ampa ordered local officials to take stern legal action against people who continue to practice slash-and-burn agriculture, the Thai-language Daily News reported yesterday (April 6, 2019).
Seriously affected by the smoke are people in the six sub-districts of Mae Pang, Loangkort, Muang Na, Muang Ngai, Muang Najorn and Muang Ngae.
Health officials have distributed face masks to the locals and advised them to stay indoors.
