Airport security worker caught stealing
A Suvarnbhumi Airport security worker was caught stealing 4,000 yuan, or around 19,800 baht, from a Chinese woman going through a security checkpoint yesterday (March 12), Sanook.com reported.
Miss Busakorn, who works at the luggage checking section of the airport, was seen on security camera stealing the money.
Airport police and special operations officers took her in for questioning and she admitted to have stolen the cash, but said this is the first time she did so and that she acted impulsively.
However Mr Kittipong Kittikachorn, deputy head of Suvarnabhumi Airport Operations Group 1, said he did not believe her because the video clip shows that she had deftly moved things around, so has ordered a check of previous recordings. If she is caught having also stolen previously, the charges will immediately increase.
Meanwhile the airline has also been told to contact the tourist and return the money.
Mr Kittipong also mentioned that the concession holding company has been told to train its staff better and if such thefts again arose the contract could be reconsidered in future.
