Embrace the local vibe when partying in Phuket
PICTURE this: you finally arrived in Phuket and found yourself a bar where you grabbed yourself a drink to catch up your breath and appreciate the scenery. You look on your left, your right, and suddenly realize that there is not one single Thai person sitting next to you!
That is because local Phuketians are selective when it comes to party and celebration. We’ve covered below a few places they love to visit when it is party time!
The Column
The newest mecca of music and friends gathering in the heart of Phuket Town. This venue is famous with Thai of all ages and offers a great selection of drinks and tasty Thai food which you can order from any of the two floors of this bar/restaurant.
The live band is really entertaining and you might even glimpse the owner of the place singing a song or two. The Column is one of the top recommended places to visit if you like to celebrate like the locals.
Mahanakorn
Makanakorn is located on Chana Charoen Road. If you were raised in Phuket, then you certainly heard about this place. This industrial bar recently moved to another part of the same road, a space which is twice as big as the original.
Get ready to hear some 90’s Thai favorite playlist while ordering from the menu, which covers the basics of your partying needs. Not as refined as The Column, but certainly a place to visit on a Friday or Saturday night.
Hua Pan
Hua Pan is another hot spot for nightlife among Phuket youngsters. They also offer live band that plays Thai songs and serves affordable drinks. Hua Pan also loves organizing concerts by famous Thai singers, who successfully gather huge number of local fans. You can find this venue in the same area as Mahanakorn, right across the street.
Sewana
If you pass in front of it in the morning, chances are you would never recognize it as you would see a local breakfast shop serving on the roadside tables. In the evening, however, Sewana offers concerts by famous Thai artistes alongside a nice selection of drinks and promotions. It also serves tasty Thai food and snacks to pair with your cold drinks. Sewana is located a few steps away from the Surin Circle in Phuket Town.
