Fire causes 50 million baht damage in Mae Hong Son

A huge fire broke out at 1.30 a.m. this morning (April 17, 2020) in the middle of the northern city of Mae Hong Son as most of the residents were asleep.

It took firemen more than four hours to extinguish the blaze. No one was hurt but 8 concrete shophouses and 4 wooden houses were burned down.

According to eyewitnesses, the blaze started in a two-storey wooden restaurant and it spread to the office of the Palang Pracharat Party and four houses.

The firemen said it was the biggest fire in 40 years. The total damage is estimated at more than 50 million baht.
