Four dead, 35 injured in blasts, fires
BOMB blasts and fires in eight in provinces have led to four deaths and 35 injuries while hospitals in the South have been ordered to be fully prepared, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Health Ministry Pranorm Khamthieng told Thai News Agency a short while ago.
Speaking after a video conference with hospitals in the eight provinces, she said initial figures show that the disquiet which started last night and continued to today led to four deaths and 35 people being hospitalized.
A breakdown shows that in Trang one person died and seven were injured; in Prachua Khiri Khan two died and 24 were injured; in Surat Thani one person died and three were injured, in Phuket one person was injured while in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, Phang Nga, Ranong there were no deaths but seven people were injured, Thai News Agency said.
The Health Ministry has opened a control center until the situation returns to normal and the public may call to give information all 24 hours at 02-509-1994.
