Fourth time lucky for Gen Chavalit
YOU are never too old to marry. That just about sums up the moment when former Thai prime minister and ex-army commander-in-chief Chavalit Yongchaiyuth slipped a diamond ring onto the finger of his new wife, who is 33 years younger than him.
Photos of his surprise marriage went viral on the Thai-language media today (July 10, 2018).
Actually, it is the fourth marriage of the 86-year-old ex-general, who was nicknamed “Sweety Big Jiew” by political reporters for his cheerful manner.
His new wife, 53-year-old Oratai Sorakarn, is a daughter of Mr Nipon Sorakarn, who was once a village chief in the southern Thai province of Surat Thani.
