Girl jumps out of taxi on tollway after driver falls asleep.
The incident took place after sunset on 4 February 2020 when there was an accident involving 4 cars on the North tollway at the Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Province intersection. One of the cars was a yellow and green taxi that ran directly into the tollway wall. The right lane was blocked from the accident, FM91 reported on their twitter account @fm91trafficpro.
A twitter user who turned out to be the passenger in the taxi tweeted about the incident, revealing the dangerous story behind an immediate decision that possibly saved her life. The girl tweeted that she decided to jump out of the car while they were on the tollway. The taxi crashed directly into the tollway’s wall. The taxi driver was in deep sleep, the passenger had tried to wake him up. When the driver finally opened his eyes, he didn’t step on the brakes and the car continued driving in an unknown direction making her decide to jump out.
The user tweeted “If anyone saw a person jump out of a car onto the tollway that was me. The story is I called a taxi to go back to my condo in Rangsit. Suddenly the car crashed into the tollway wall, I thought in my head that I was sure going to die. I kind of lost it for a while and tried to wake the driver up. I shook his body and even slapped his face to wake him up. He was sleeping, when he finally woke up and heard me tell him to stop the car, he asked why to stop the car? I continued slapping him till he finally slowed down the car, this is when I opened the door and jumped out”.
The passenger also revealed that before the moment of the accident, she saw that the car was swaying back and forth on the road. She was scared for a while before jumping out onto the road. A good citizen saw her jump out and delivered her safely back to the condo. She stated “At the moment I saw my mother’s face floating in front of me. After crashing he was still trying to continue driving. My body was shaking so much, I was hugging my bag while the car was still driving. Many cars slowed down to see what was happening and a nice person delivered me home”. The passenger then went to the hospital and filed a report with the police.
