Grandma fights back, tears of robber’s mask.
A grandma was robbed of her valuable purse, instead of giving in the granny had no fear and fought back with the robber. She punched the robber non-stop and was able to rip off the robber’s mask. The robber pretended to be a normal customer inside a local convenience store when the granny turned away the robber ran and tried to steal her wallet. Officials are tracking down the thief with the help of security camera footage.
Police Captain Sutham Diratcharam from the Chalermprakiat Police Station in Buriram province was notified of a robbery that took place inside a convenient store owned by an elderly couple. The robber was wearing a cloth mask that covered her whole face except for the eyes. She was able to get away with 3,000 THB. Officials went to inspect the store right away in a village called Tako Pattana.
Officials met Samriang Prasongsap 78 years old the grandpa who used to work in the local Isan Municipal and Sawean Prasongsap 73 years old the granny who owns the store. Sawean the wife stated that at around noon there was a woman about 30-35 years old and 150-160 centimeters tall wearing a mask inside the store. She was driving a Red and Black Honda Wave motorbike, the thief parked in front of the store and left her motorbike running.
The woman was looking at some items in the store before she started talking to the granny. The robber asked granny if she was interested in buying some underground lottery which is illegal in Thailand but very common. The granny informed the woman that she didn’t know how to play and wasn’t interested. The granny was about to count her cash inside the wallet but decided to place the bag away until the customer left the store.
As granny looked the other way, the woman ran to the back of the store and grabbed the wallet. Granny saw what was happening and jumped on the thief then ripped her mask off. Her left hand was trying to pull back her wallet and her right hand was punching the thief right in the face nonstop. Finally, her mask fell off and the thief was shocked because the granny saw her face. The thief ran out to her motorbike and was able to get away with 3,000 THB.
