Lottery enthusiasts bet on sacred log ‘magic’
Bang Pho Police Station in the Thon Buri side of Bangkok is drawing a lot of visitors for a strange reason.
Many locals believe the spirit of a beautiful woman resides in an old wooden log that has been kept at the police station since it was built 80 years ago, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported today (March 14).
Rumors about her apparition has drawn the attention of lottery enthusiasts, who descend on the police station every two weeks to wish for winning lottery numbers.
The paper did not say whether illegal lottery brokers are among the visitors to the shrine.
