Mae Hong Son headman shuts down village to prevent Covid-19
Huahia Village in Bangmapa Sub-district of the northern Thai province of Mae Hong Son has been shut down since 22.00 p.m. on April 12, 2021 to prevent outsiders who may have been infected with Covid-19 from entering, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported yesterday (April 13, 2021).
Headman Porjate Kaewtarakul and villagers have installed a barrier to prevent outsiders from entering. Local residents are prevented from leaving the village, except in cases of emergency.
A senior person has also organized a chanting ceremony to dispel bad elements.
Huahai Village is well-known among tourists, who are drawn by the natural beauty of the area.
