Man purchases car, crashes into 4 others in temple.

A man purchased a vehicle and decided to have it blessed by a monk. He had only owned it for a day when he drove to the temple. Luck was not with him as an accident took place and he crashed into 4 other vehicles in the temple. His brakes would not work and he lost control of the vehicle. It is a tradition in Thailand for monks to bless a vehicle that has been recently purchased. The 53 year old man had purchased a second hand BMW and wanted good luck for his car. When he lost control, the car crashed into 4 others that were parked inside the temple. 

 

 

Police Major General Poksit Disra from the Rat Burana Police received notification of an accident on 31 December 2022. A car had crashed into other vehicles inside Wat Sar Od Temple, Rat Burana, Bangkok. The local rescue team were notified and together they went to the temple. Officials found a white BMW and a green Mazda truck. Parts of the temple was also affected including broken plant pots on the ground. It was clear that the white BMW had crashed into the green truck and the temple. There were 2 more vehicles involved in the accident including a bronze BMW and a Honda car. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident. 

 

 

Chacchai 53 years old stated he had purchased the second hand BMW yesterday. He was driving to the temple so the car could be blessed. This is to give the car good luck and protection. As he arrived inside the temple he parked and asked where the main building was. But as he drove off the brake did not work. He turned the car to where there were no people. Chacchai is glad he didn’t drive inside the temple hall where there were people inside. Police have asked all drivers to travel to the police station. This is to help find the cause of the accident and for those affected to get the help they need.
