Merit-making after 2 major mishaps

THE Thai government will organize a major merit-making ceremony after two big mishaps occurred in the country, Sanook.com reported today (July 9, 2018).

According to Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, the ceremony is aimed at boosting the morale of the Thai people after 12 boys and their soccer coach got lost in a cave in Chiang Rai Province, and a tourist boat capsized in Phuket.

The Phoenix dive boat capsized on Thursday July 5, 2018 killing 42 Chinese tourists with 49 rescued and 14 missing. One of the dead tourists is still trapped in the sunken boat and officials are working on bringing the body out.
