Monk faces charges over cruelty against dogs
THAI dog lovers are up in arms against a Buddhist monk who was caught in a video dragging a dog along the road with his motorcycle in the central Thai province of Lop Buri, Sanook.com reported today (August 23).
The video was posted on Facebook by “Watchdog Thailand,” after police investigators caught up with the monk, who claimed that the dog was rabid and it was already dead when he found it.
The monk later led the police to a garbage dump, where another dead dog was found. The ‘Thai Love Animals’ group will perform an autopsy on this dog to determine if it had been tortured.
