A mother and her new boyfriend trapped a 2-year-old girl inside a washing machine. They posted a picture of what they did on social media thinking others would agree with their punishment style. A 27 years old and B 25 years old gave themself up at the Tha Kham Police Station in Bangkok on 17 July 2023. The couple is facing charges of causing bodily harm and domestic violence. Kan Jom Palang, a famous helper in Thailand received news about the 2 harming C, a 2-year-old girl. The small child was covered in bruises and was locked inside a washing machine.
The couple captured a picture of this and posted it on social media. The real father had passed away from an electric shock 2-3 months ago. B, the mother found new love with A and moved in together. Teachers at the care center and villagers nearby have noticed that C often showed up with bruises on her body. These bruises looked like the results of domestic violence. The day came when A and B posted a picture of the girl inside a washing machine. The caption stated, “This is what bad girls deserve”. Netizens who saw the post all had the same opinion, no person deserves such treatment, let alone a 2-year-old.
The girl is too young to be considered “bad” or “evil”. Both suspects have admitted to locking the girl inside the washing machine. They also admitted to using violence as a form of punishment when C acted “Bad”. This was often when they couldn’t understand her or when she didn’t follow their orders. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has temporarily taken the girl into their care. Both the suspects will have to face prosecution.
