Motorcycle taxis protest against Grab Bike

AROUND 120 motorcycle taxi drivers in Bangkok gathered in front of Grab Bike office at 4 p.m. today (May 17) and accused it of stealing their job, Sanook.com reported.

Talks were still going on between the two parties at 5.00 p.m.to find out a solution to the problem.

Sanook.com yesterday interviewed a Grab Bike user, who explained why she stopped using the regular motorcycle taxis.

“I was charged 120 baht by the regular motorcycle taxi for a ride from Sathorn City Tower to Chinatown,” she said. “I paid only 28 baht to Grab Bike for the same route.”

“As a customer, I will choose the service that is cheaper,” she added.
