Mysterious parcel turns out to be Crystal Methamphetamine.
This incident took place on the 14th of this month around 7 pm when Police Lieutenant Ying Parinya Iadkaew from the Rayong City Police Station in Rayong province was notified from a mother and child about an unknown parcel that was delivered to their home.
The parcel was delivered by a famous private shipping company to the home. The company stated that there was no receiver at the delivery address so they had to ship the parcel back to the return address that was written on the box. This made the mother suspicious as she hasn’t sent any parcels this month.
Furthermore, the address on the box was her address, but the sender’s name was from “Auntie Taow” there was no one aunt named Taow living in her home and she also did not personally know anyone by that name. The mother thought that an online seller might have been using her address. To be safe, she decided to bring the parcel to the police to open as proof that she had no connections to what was inside the box.
The parcel was opened by the mother and her child in front of the police in the station as witnesses. At first, the mother saw a white and blue long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans, but when she removed the clothes from the box underneath was crystal methamphetamine wrapped in gold foil.
There was a 1 kilogram of “Ice” formally known as crystal methamphetamine in the box disguised as clothes being shipped to a customer. The sender had used the woman’s address as a fake shipping address, but in this case, it was returned and the mother was smart enough to open the box in front of the police. The police requested the mother and child for an immediate interview without allowing any of the media inside the investigation room. Many other officers were called in and the box is currently in the investigation process.
