New abbot for Dhammakaya Temple
THE deputy abbot of Dhammakaya Temple has been appointed as chief abbot by the Ecclesiastical Council of Pathum Thani Province. He will officially take up his position at a date to be set in December, Sanook.com reported today (Dec. 2).
Phra Kru Sangkarakrangsarit Ittijintako will work closely with a committee appointed by Somdej Phrabuddhachinnawong, who is head of the ecclesiastical council of the central region.
A formal ceremony for his appointment will take place at the temple in December. The new abbot will work closely with two advisory committees set up by the Pathum Thani Ecclesiastical Council.
